Your destiny is found in your past
A topic that Miles spoke on one night at Waters Edge, and a place that God is calling me to today. Into the past. A place that I was hoping I could forget about and start over from without having to reflect, but I was wrong. I start the journey that may be painful, but I am called to go there and find where my destiny lies.
Sarah Palin said something in her speech the other night about John McCain that stuck with me and spoke into my life. She was talking about the nightmares that he has gone through and why that has made him a better man today. She said:
To the most powerful office on earth, he would bring the compassion that comes from having once been powerless … the wisdom that comes even to the captives, by the grace of God … the special confidence of those who have seen evil, and seen how evil is overcome.
I can relate and only hope that I will have the compassion, wisdom, and special confidence from being in those places.
